Go See "I Want Your Money" in Theaters On October 15

Bill Smith, Editor, ARRA News Service: A Movie You CAN'T Afford to Miss. This Friday October 15, I WANT YOUR MONEY Рthe highly anticipated, hilarious Obama expos̩ that everyone is talking about - will open in movie theaters nationwide.

If you’re tired of Obama’s big-government-tax-and-spend policies, YOU WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE! I WANT YOUR MONEY is a controversial new film about the competing economic visions championed by Presidents Reagan and Obama – a duel of speeches, wit, animation and narrative that leaves audiences laughing, cheering, yelling . . . and engages them in the national conversation about the mounting national debt, and why it matters. After all, IT’S YOUR MONEY THEY ARE SPENDING.

I screened this movie and then participated in two advanced showings of the film to two very different audiences. One in Washington, D.C and one in the Arkansas Ozark Mountains. The movie resonated with both audiences and it will resonate with a majority of people except for liberal elites. Although a documentary, the movie is interspersed with animated cartoons which allows the viewer time to absorb the material and to have a laugh while points are illustrated. Without these cartoons the movie would indeed be shorter, peoples blood pressure would be elevated, and their minds would have been overtaxed with the reality of the present situation.

There is also hope in this movie as the truth is shared about socialism which is destructive to individual freedoms and the well being of people. The words of Ronald Reagan share how capitalism, individual freedom and choice raises the economic well being of all people at all income levels. Audiences will find finds themselves cheering at the end movie when the "Gipper" takes on Barack Obama.

Take your family and friends to this movie. While the November elections are upon us, this movie will help prepare people for conversations with their elected officials after the elections. It is time to hold them accountable at all levels be it Federal, State, County or City. Remember, it is "your money," your family and friends' money and the money of future generations that the government is taking and wasting.

I Want Your Money includes insightful interviews with Newt Gingrich, Steve Forbes, Ed Meese, Mike Huckabee, John Stossel, Michael Reagan, Congressmen Tom McClintock, Thad McCotter and former California governor Pete Wilson, among many others, EXPLAINING CLEARLY WHY OBAMA’S PLAN HAS FAILED, AND WHAT WE NEED TO DO TO RECOVER.

Tampa Bay Region to Host RNC 2012

ARRA News Service - The Republican National Committee’s members unanimously voted today to ratify the recommendation of the Tampa Bay Region to host the 2012 Republican National Convention. The vote took place at the RNC’s Summer Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri.

“We are excited to be holding our 2012 Convention in Tampa Bay. The Site Selection Committee worked incredibly hard to find and present the best city to our Members, and I am very pleased with the decision made today to ratify this selection,” said RNC Chairman Michael Steele. “As we begin our planning efforts, we have been beyond impressed by the community’s hospitality and warm welcome, and I am confident that this will be a true team effort as we move towards 2012.”

“From the start of this process Chairman Steele and the Site Selection Committee have focused on what would be the best business deal for the RNC, the Convention, and the city. Tampa has easily met all of these challenges and more, and we are thrilled to bring the Republican Convention to Florida,” said Holly Hughes, Site Selection Chairman.

The 2012 Republican National Convention will be held the week of August 27th. In downtown Tampa, the St Pete Times Forum will serve as the Convention venue, and the Tampa Convention Center being used for the Media Workspace. It is expected that the convention will bring 45,000 people to the region in the 5 day period. It is also projected that the region will see over 150 million dollars in revenue during the convention week.

The 2012 Republican National Convention website was launched today.

Obama Ignores Oil Spill & US Border Invasion While "Fiddling Around" & Pushing Climate Change Bill

Bill Smith, Editor, ARRA News: It used to be many people but now it is "most people" who are wondering where the President Obama's head and heart is  these days. It doesn't appear to the majority of Americans that he values "down to earth" good old America - our country. Yesterday, we note another example of Obama's lack of focus on what really matters:
ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reported: In the wake of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, President Obama today summoned a bipartisan group of over 20 senators to the White House to push for energy and climate change legislation.

But one thing the President did not want to talk about at the meeting was the BP disaster, a Republican source told ABC News. And that, the source said, led to a pointed exchange with GOP senator Lamar Alexander from Tennessee.

"The priority should be fixing the oil spill," Alexander told the President, according to the source. “That's what any meeting about energy should be about.”

But when Alexander tried to interject the BP leak into the meeting, the source said, the President told the senator, "That's just your talking point." Retorted Alexander, "No, it's my opinion." . . . [Full Story]
Arrogance abounds in the White House. American is suffering while President Obama "Fiddles Around" in the White House, on the golf course, or jetting around the globe trying to impress global dignitaries, and constantly campaigning. Wonder when he will ever visit the US Border with Mexico! We are under armed attack. People are being murdered and raped by invaders on American soil. I never thought I would find my self saying anything good about disgraced former president Jimmy Carter. But here goes: At least Carter showed some good old Southern grace while screwing over America.

Christine Bashing: The New Delaware Establishment Sport

Senate Candidate and Conservative insurgent Christine O'Donnell is making waves in Delaware by challenging Delaware Congressman Mike Castle who was rated as the most liberal Republican in the House of Representatives who is now going for the Senate. She is no threat according to the establishment, yet she is the focal point of their attention.

The latest dust up is a minor financial disclosure report. Delaware Tomorrow, a fine Republican leaning blog, blasted Ms. O’Donnell as not believing the rules apply to her. The real fact emerged that she had followed the rules and applied for an exemption whose approval happen to be announced the day after the post. Her lawyer had an heart attack and the campaign applied for an extension.

Instead of accepting the facts, they spun a conspiracy. It is a cover up.

The reporting requirements have not changed. 30 days have passed, May 15th has come, and gone. And yet… Christine O’Donnell has STILL not filed the required Personal Financial Disclosure Report. Nor has she, at any point, requested a waiver or an extension of the reporting requirement. Update: The Secretary of the Senate says an extension request was granted today, apparently at about 12:30 or so. In previous telephone calls to the Secretary of the Senate, including earlier today, that office had informed me that no requests for an extension had been received. It is unclear when this specific request was submitted, however, such requests are typically granted quickly, and as a matter of course.

Many have questioned what Ms. O’Donnell does for a living. Where, they wonder, does our “Swallow of Capistrano” go, and what does she do, when she is not running for the U.S. Senate? Her defenders claim that she has her own successful consulting business. Yet the few campaign finance reports she has bothered to file show her paying for what many perceive to be ordinary living expenses. Obviously, complying with the requirement to file the Personal Financial Disclosure Reports might have helped clear up some of these questions and allayed concerns about her campaign.

In other words, the facts can’t get in the way of my good friend’s conspiracy theory. Christine, after-all is the enemy of “true Republicans” like Mr. Mike Castle, therefore she has to be a slimy schemer. There is no reason to oppose such a wonderful independent mind like the Congressman so she can’t have honorable disagreements. Therefore she must be exposed. Any little anomaly must be seen in the light of her evil conspiracy against common sense and our hero. Even when the reason for the extention was clearly non controversial, this response was this. Mike Stafford is judge, juror, and and prosecutor because he knows more than the people who are actually in charge.

This year, she failed to file by 5/15. The rules say any candidate who is more than 30 days late and does not have an extension has to pay a $200 fine when they file. She got an extension approved through July early this afternoon, however, the 30-day period ran earlier in the week. I’m not sure how rigorous they are in enforcing the time requirement (my guess is, not very), however, depending on when the request for an extension was submitted, it seems to me that she should be fined again if her campaign submitted the request for an extension after the 30 day period post-May 15th ran. We’ll see.

Why does he insist on a near meaningless fine regardless of the facts? It is because the people have no idea this is a minor issue. They want a line of attack which avoids issues. When you talk issues, Mr. Castle is in trouble with primary voters. When you talk personality, Mr. Castle can win because the O’Donnell campaign has neglected to introduce Christine the person to us. Issues must be avoided at all costs in the view of the establishment.

In my view, issues are what matter. Americans are hurting. The economy is stagnant. We are at war on two fronts. The culture is under seige. The titanic struggle between the control economy and the individual controlled market place is on. There is no room for accomodation, only victory or defeat. We will either remain the America of our heritage or become Europeanized. We will either return to the vision of Washington, Dickenson, Adams, Hamilton, Madison, and Rush or we shall adopt the vision of the Fabian Society, Chavez, Mitterand, and the global left. We need champions of the American way not people who will compromise it at retail speed instead of the current wholesale speed and consider that progress.

There is a reason the Castle crowd will talk about anything but the fundamental challenges facing America. He has had 18 years to propose solutions. He has had 18 years of power. His solution has been to work against conservative attempts to roll back government intrusion. He has been on the front row of the battle and offered nothing. For his troubles, he wants a promotion.

Unfortunately, running a campaign saying its my turn won’t win hearts and minds so the answer is to demonize the interloper. Since you can’t beat up on the girl in our culture, the campaign has to use indirect means to raise doubts and leave the campaign to smile and shake hands. It appears Delaware Tomorrow has become one of those agents.

What strikes me as interesting with this latest post is that even an attorney having an heart attack is not enough to merit a cease fire on a line of attack. It appears the establishment has gone from disdain to hatred of Ms. O’Donnell. She must be more significant than they lead us to believe. If she really didn’t have a bus full of supporters, no one would care.

More Smoke Around Crist Campaign . . .

. . . and often when there's smoke there's fire. Why did Florida Republican voters not support Gov. Charlie Crist for their party's nomination? Maybe it was because they understood the real problems associated with Jim Greer and Crist. They may have been nice enough not to have hang out the dirty laundry, but they knew which people were creating it. Obviously, based on polling numbers, they didn't want to be associate with Crist any longer. Crist has now gone Independent and he kept the money donated by Republicans donors and the Florida Republican Party! Wonder how much came from his buddy Jim Greer?

Wash Times: Crist ally arrested, accused of GOP theft
Miami Herald: GOP chief arrested in secret siphoning of cash
WaPo: Former Florida Republican chairman Jim Greer charged with defrauding party
NYT: Florida: Ex-Republican Leader Indicted

American Spectator: Crist Majordomo Charged

Buzz: Charlie Crist "owns" Jim Greer scandal sullying McCollum and others
Hill: Crist says he’s ‘lonely’ on campaign trail
Poor baby - what did he expect. Crist should give back the money both tangible and in-kind! The justice department may not have done so yet, but the public must surely see Crist as an unindited co-conspirator.

Christine O'Donnell: Delaware US Senate

O'Donnell: Great Senate Candidate
Contribute Now to Christine O'Donnell

As soldier Jim Rodgers makes clear below, it's time for American conservatives -- people who love this country -- to fish or cut bait. Please donate what you can at: http://christine2010.com/

[Note: I write regularly about the Senate race in Delaware at: http://stevemaloneygop.blogspot.som. I hope you'll visit. If you need information about assisting Christine O'Donnell, please e-mail me: TalkTop65@aol.com.

Hi friends and fellow conservatives. I would like to encourage everyone to make a monetary contribution to help Christine O'Donnell succeed in beating a RINO in the Delaware primary election. She is a candidate for Joe Biden's US Senate seat. I realize you don't live in Delaware, however her election to the Senate is critical in order for us to take our country back. Christine is a Constitutional Conservative. Delaware's primary is September 14th, only weeks before the general election. She is in a tight race against a liberal RINO and she needs our support. Please send as large or small of a donation that you can afford. I am confident she can win the general election if she can beat the RINO Mike Castle that she is up against. I can't over emphasize the importance of her winning Joe Biden's Senate seat. This would send a signal to Washington every bit as big as the signal sent by Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts. Below is her site where you can make a contribution and help in other ways if you desire. Thank you for your support. Jim Rodgers

Pastor Stephen Broden: “Michael Steele is Wrong.”

Duane Lester (All American Blogger) and Jim Hoft (Gateway Pundit) attended Winning America Back event in Independence, Missouri. Wish I could have been there; there was a great list of speakers. But one of the people that caught their attention was Pastor Stephen Broden who did the opening prayer for the event. Broden is the Republican conservative candidate for Congress in Texas’ 30th District against socialist Eddie Bernice Johnson.

Duane and Jim caught up with Pastor Broden and asked him about Michael Steele’s assertion that black Americans didn’t have a reason to vote for Republicans. Duane recorded the question and Broden's response which you will find revealing and on target. Michale Steele is not on the right track but Stephen Broden and numerous other conservative blacks are on the right track and waiting for Steele to join them. Please view the video. In summary, to quote Broden, “Michael Steele, you are wrong!”

Ballad of the Tea Party - Sung by Joel Pollak (R-IL-9)

The Ballad of the Tea Party [Video]
Written and Performed by Joel Pollak (R)
Nominee for Congress - 9th District, Illinois
Chicago Tax Day Tea Party - April 15, 2010
On a cold night in Boston, three ships in the dock
With their valuable cargo still waiting to stock
But the colonists wont pay the duty on tea
And the governor wont let the ships out to sea

Chorus:
Sing - hey, hey, what do we say?
American freedom is here to stay!
Hey, hey, what do we say?
Don't tax our freedom away!

Now the Crown has been adding new fees by the score
And the people don't think they can bear any more
Yet they don't have a vote, so they don't have a say
And they're starting to talk about breaking away

(Chorus)
Now the people have gathered round the Old Meeting House
If the governor listens, they'll still hear him out
But Sam Adams, he reads the report with a frown
So the people decide that the tea must do down

(Chorus)

So they don their disguises and clamber aboard
And the governors tea is soon tossed overboard
And the news spreads throughout the thirteen colonies
That our country's new motto is Don't Tread On Me.

(Chorus)

Now today we have gathered--young, old, black, and white
And we've all got the vote, so we don't need to fight
But if Washington taxes our future away
Then well throw them all out on Election Day!

(Chorus)

Your Taxes: Their Spending - Prepare for the Largest Tax Increases in History

Tomorrow is Tax Day, Earth Day and thank goodness for those opposed to all these taxes: a self-proclaimed TEA Party Day. The Obama Administration's spending in the past year has been unprecedented and Tax Day won't come and go quietly. In just over a year, Democrats in Washington have proposed trillions of dollars in new taxes on American Families -- and passed hundreds of billions in new taxes to pay for their government takeover of our health care. These new taxes affect you and your family -- every day.

Katherine Jenerette for Congress, SC

Conservative Katherine Jenerette is running for Congress in South Carolina's beautiful 1st congressional district, stretching from historic Charleston through Myrtle Beach to
the North Carolina state line. Katherine, my friend, may be the very best person running for Congress in America.

A student of history and an expert on the U.S. Constitution (the one Obama, Pelosi, and Reid ignore), Katherine is the first female paratrooper ever to run for Congress. Katherine has made 15 jumps. She' s currently an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. In her college days, she was a world-class long distance runner, and her daughter "Benji" is following in mom's footsteps.

With her fellow paratroopers, Katherine does indeed stand her ground. Paratroopers aren't "good" at retreating, at surrendering, or at running away. In 2004, Katherine ran her first political race -- against "Dickie" Elliott, a career politician and lavishly financed state Senator. Dickie spent $250,000 on the race; Katherine spent $26,000. Dickie won . . . in a race so close that the final results weren't known for days.

A top South Carolina political blog said the other day that "Katherine continues to exceed expectations." In fact, her expectations -- and mine -- are that she will win this race against some of the biggest names in Carolina politics. She may be the greatest "old-style" candidate in the modern history of the South. She presses the flesh constantly. She is relentless.

And yes, folks, she needs our help . . . our donations. She can't help us take back our America unless we help her get elected. The ultimate "Tea Party" candidate, Katherine doesn't have a horde of rich backers. Instead, she has us . . . the American people.

Bloggers "Adopt" Delaware's Christine O'Donnell

Hey Friends: Run, don't walk to the supercool RepealCastle web site -- www.repealcastle.com -- and write a message to Rep. Mike Castle, who sometimes masquerades as a Republican, about his total refusal to support repeal of the ObamaCare monster. We'll make sure the most creative and insightful messages to Mike get wide distribution.

Castle's now going around touting the "good" parts of the health care, such as allowing "children" to stay on their parents' health insurance until their hair turns gray and they get arthritis.

Of course, the only business in America left for the government to take over is Piper Palin's lemonade stand. And somehow tens of millions of people don't have jobs, and companies are cutting to the bone the health benefits they give employees. Some "reform."

Mike Castle supports cap-and-trade, which would damage not only us . . . but harm the biggest manufacturing business in his state, DuPont. Maybe he's been in the Beltway so long that he forgot DuPont was in Delaware?

Anyway, check out www.repealcastle.com. And take a look at the cool stuff at the bottom of the site page . . . related to the campaign of Castle's Republic opponent, Christine O'Donnell.

Take my word, Christine will "Scott Brown" (new verb!) Castle. Knowing Christine well, I can say she's probably the most likable and decent candidate for the Senate I've ever encountered. Can she take the "Joe Biden" seat the way Scott took the "Teddy Kennedy seat?" The smart folks aren't betting against this charismatic young woman.

Sign up at repealcastle and be at your most creative in writing him a message. All of them will be delivered (and otherwise publicized).

If we all get behind Christine, a solid conservative, then we'll be talking on November 2 about "the Delaware Miracle." She can use your help. And America needs this feisty conservative.

P.S. Let your friends and allies know about repealcastle.com. They'll love it.

PPS, Christine will be on FOX Business News at 7 p.m. on Monday.

"Remember the Alamo" Then and "Remember 3/21: Now!

by Ron Russell, TOTUS Most in this country know the phrase, "Remember the Alamo" and certainly all Texans know that rallying battle cry! The defeat at the Alamo marked the beginning of the war for Texas independence. A war that would end with the crowning victory at San Jacinto and an independent and free Texas.

Yesterday in Washington the forces of individualism suffered a great defeat at the hands of the over-whelming forces in the House combined with the might of the Executive Branch. The two hundred or so beleaguered members of the House could not withstand the onslaught of the vast army arrayed against them. Their walls were breached by back room deals, presidential promises and favors, and blatant bribery on a scale never seen before in American politics. In the end they were overwhelmed and crushed and their flag of patriotism trampled beneath the tyrant's feet.

But from the ashes of that defeat, a new battle cry will be heard, a new call to arms. Just as the Texans of long ago screamed "remember the Alamo" as they charged the forces of tyranny; the ever growing forces of Individualism, of Patriotism will raise a new battle cry: "Remember 3/21" as they drive the forces of collectivism and Marxism from the field and achieve that Crowning Victory!

Christine O'Donnell: Delaware's Sarah Palin

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Marco Rubio is Delaware's own version of Sarah Palin, Republican Christine O'Donnell. She's a pro-life, pro-guns Christian conservative running for the US Senate against left-leaning Michael Castle. She deserves an endorsement by Gov. Palin and support by conservatives across the nation.

Steve Maloney posted the following:
US Senate: Conservative Christine O'Donnell

One of the biggest contests in American politics will be conservative Republican Christine O'Donnell against liberal Republican Mike Castle, "The King of the Rinos." Conservatives nationally should rally around Christine, who is poised to defeat Castle, one of the anvils around the neck of the Republican Party. ... See Full Article.

A Courageous Health Care Vote - OK Maybe Not Courageous

There are so many major problems with health care bill that it's a challenge to list them all. There's the budgetary gimmick of paying for health care for four years prior to bill taking effect. There is the myriad of state specific deals added in order to gain votes. However, the craziest and most brazen example of political double talk was when President Obama at a town hall meeting proclaimed that Representatives should have courage and vote ones conscience in a straight forward up or down vote. This was almost immediately followed by the Democratic leadership calling for 'deem and pass.' A vote that would allow Congressmen to officially not go on record with a health care vote, while still passing the bill. This basically allows someone to vote 'present' on health care reform. While the method is controversial and angers many, what's crazy about it is that it is the exact opposite of what President Obama had just passionately requested just hours prior - courage and transparency. This left Secretary Gibbs in the unenviable position of trying to answer questions about this blatant hypocrisy...

A Courageous Up or Down Vote: Nah Just Kidding

Senate Republican Ask Supporters to Contact Reps About Health Bill #killthebill

In a letter to supporters Senator McCain urges supporters to call their representatives in a last minute push to defeat the health care bill that he describes as a "disastrous piece of legislation."

My Friend,

This morning, the Congressional Budget Office released their final numbers on the Democrats' health care bill. They estimate this unprecedented takeover of our health care system will cost taxpayers $940 billion. This bill is full of kickbacks and back room deals, and exceeds the $900 billion ceiling President Obama set last September.

We must do everything in our power to defeat this bill from becoming law. The work we do in the final hours before the vote will make all the difference. Speaker Pelosi wants the House to vote for this bill on Sunday - less than 72 hours from the time I write this email. We have very little time to act.

I urge you to immediately call your Member of Congress to tell him or her to vote "No" on this disastrous piece of legislation. You can find your representative's office phone number at House.gov or by calling the House of Representatives main switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

The telephone lines in many Washington, DC offices are being flooded with calls from people like you who oppose this bill. If you are unable to get through to the Washington office, please call your representative's district office or contact them through the email contact form on their website.

Each poll that has been conducted shows an overwhelming majority of Americans are against the Obama Administration's attempt to impose government-run health care. Yet the Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats are doing everything trying to ram this bill through Congress this weekend.

Your representative in Congress needs to know you oppose this bill, so once again, I ask that you take a few minutes right now to call your representative and ask them to vote "No" on government-run health care.

After making the call, I ask that you consider making a donation to my reelection campaign. As you may have heard, I am facing a tough reelection battle and your support is needed so that I may continue my service on your behalf and fight for the things that you and I believe in.

I thank you for your time and generosity. Your involvement will make all the difference.

Sincerely,

John McCain

Obama Hypocritical - Media Incompetent

In the following CSPAN clip Senator McCain addresses the numerous back room deals and political favors included in the Health Care Bill. He goes on to explain that during the campaign both he and President Obama agreed to change the way things were done in Washington. That clearly there was no 'change' in the 'politics as usual' style that resulted in this bill with its numerous goodies for particular Senators and their respective states.

President Obama's response was to chastise Senator McCain for being in campaign mode. In reality, Senator McCain simply did what the main stream media has refused to do over the last year and a half. He called him out on blantantly breaking a campaign promise. Now the CSPAN clip below, is not the clip you likely saw on the news, as the media still refuses to show criticism of President Obama. What the media presented was President Obama's rebuke with out any of that pesky critique.

However, if one actually looks at the President's record and his statement, it is one of the most blatantly hypocritical remarks made in ages. President Obama is the consumate campaigner; neither side question's ability to campaign or make a speech. Campaigning is President Obama's 'go to' move. Real Clear Politics breaks down just how politically motivated the president's travel is, as one example of the Obama White House's perpetual campaign mode.

Presidential Travel Favors Blue, Purple States

President Obama's trip to Georgia tomorrow will be his first as president. According to data shared by the indispensable Mark Knoller of CBS News, it will mark the 31st state the president has traveled to since taking office last January.

Looking more closely at those numbers, a pattern emerges that is hard to ignore. Obama has visited 23 of the 28 states he carried in November 2008, but only six of the 22 states carried by Republican John McCain. Broken into three broad categories:

Obama has made 47 stops in the 19 states he carried by more than 10 points (including 16 in neighboring Maryland).
Obama has made 44 stops in the 16 states where the final result was within 10 points (including 19 in neighboring Virginia).
Obama has made 4 stops in the 15 states that McCain carried by more than 10 points.

Washington Comletely Missing the Boat When it Comes to Small Business

Caroline Baum of Bloomberg wrote a piece today about how pessimistic and disenfranchised small businesses are by the actions of Washington and the Obama administration. Small businesses have good reason to angry. Their having difficulty getting loans, even when they have good credit. Health care legislation causes concern about the amount of money they may be required to spend in the future. The Bush tax cuts are due to expire, which will inevitably affect many small business owners. From energy policy to economic policy small business owners are getting ulcers from an administration that doesn't seem to grasp the importance of businesses in an economic recovery. The only way for jobs to return is for businesses large and small to succeed. There are legitimate reasons to be angry at Wall Street, and corporate greed. However, Washington is throwing the baby out with the bath water when it seeks to restrain or punish all businesses. The most fundamental economic truth is that businesses can only hire people when their company is succeeding. If Washington can't grasp this simple concept there's no hope for them to aid an economic recovery.

From Bloomberg Clueless in the Capital Meets Small-Business Ire: Caroline Baum

Feb. 11 (Bloomberg) -- “Washington doesn’t get it.”

That generic statement is tripping off the tongues of populists and Tea Partiers, business groups and bankers alike. In short, the public is peeved at the politicians.

I heard it this week from William Dunkelberg, chief economist of the National Federation of Independent Business, who used his group’s latest survey to opine on Washington’s deaf ear for helping small business.

The president and Congress “pay lip service to the fact that small business generates half of private-sector GDP and employs 60 percent or more of private-sector workers,” Dunkelberg says. As far as Washington’s efforts to help this sector of the economy, “instead of stimulus, give consumers a tax cut,” he says.

Iranians Protest Today on Aniversary of Revolution

Protests in Iran Today

For those following the use of social media, particularly Twitter in regards to the protests in Iran, today is a good to be folowing the #iranelection tag on Twitter as large protests are scheduled. The government has renewed attempts to crackdown on its citizens internet use. Only time will tell how successful they have been in oppressing their own people.

From the Denver post Huge rally and protests mark Iran revolution
TEHRAN, Iran—Hundreds of thousands of Iranians massed Thursday in central Tehran to mark the anniversary of the revolution that created the country's Islamic republic, while a heavy security force fanned out across the city and moved quickly to snuff out opposition counter protests.
Police clashed with protesters in several sites around Tehran, firing tear gas to disperse them and paintballs to mark them for arrest. Dozens of hard-liners with batons and pepper spray attacked the convoy of a senior opposition leader, Mahdi Karroubi, smashing his car windows and forcing him to turn back as he tried to join the protests, his son Hossein Karroubi told The Associated Press.

The celebrations marking the revolution's 31st anniversary

An image made from video provided by Iranian State TV, pro-government demonstrators gather in the central square of Tehran to mark the 31st anniversary of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution Thursday Feb. 11, 2010 were an opportunity for Iran's clerical regime to tout its power in the face of the opposition movement, which has managed to keep up periodic street protests since the disputed June presidential elections despite a fierce crackdown.
The opposition turnout was dwarfed by the huge crowd at the state-run celebrations. Many were bused in to central Azadi, or Freedom, Square to hear an address by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who proclaimed a new success in Iran's uranium enrichment program and dismissed new U.S. sanctions.

And the massive security clampdown appeared to succeed in preventing protesters from converging into a cohesive demonstrations. Large numbers of riot police, members of the Revolutionary Guard and Basij militiamen, some on motorcycles, deployed in back streets near key squares and major avenues in the capital to move against protesters.

Opposition Web sites spoke of groups of protesters in the hundreds, compared to much larger crowds in past demonstrations

One protester told The Associated Press she had tried to join the demonstrations but soon left in disappointment. "There were 300 of us, maximum 500. Against 10,000 people," she told an AP reporter outside Iran. She said there were few

ABC/WaPo Chart of Dem Advantage Starkly Shows Decline in Trust

An ABC Washington Post Poll 2010 Elections: Republicans are in the Hunt shows how Republicans have recently gained a slight advantage over Democrats on both national topics, and in the upcoming Congressional races. One of the most stark examples of the Democrats decline of support on all major issues comes from a chart showing how just a year ago Obama and the Democrats, who had enjoyed a huge advantage evrything from health care to the economy, now have seen that lead has all but disappeared within a year's time...

McCain Notes Senate Role in Campaign Letter

My Friend,

The 2010 election offers all Americans - and especially Republicans - a critical choice. We can fight for the principles we believe in, or watch as Barack Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress take our nation down a costly, destructive path.

I'm ready for that battle. And as one of my strongest supporters, I sincerely hope I can count on you to continue to stand with me as I work hard to win reelection in November.

President Obama and the Democrats in control of Congress have gone too far in their quest to "change" America. Their radical, far left policies are undermining America's founding principles and greatly threaten our nation's future economic health and national security.

It is truly disheartening that in their desire to advance their far left agenda, the Democrats are totally ignoring proven ways to create jobs and get our economy moving again. Our opponents' determined efforts to completely overhaul America's health care system, drive our federal deficit to historic levels, and do serious harm to Medicare - serves as a powerful lesson as to the lengths they will go to advance their radical liberal agenda.

The issues we face today call for real, positive, effective solutions. That is why I am determined to remain in the U.S. Senate.

Today, I ask that you reaffirm your support for our shared values by making an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more. If you are able to make a donation of $100 or more today, I will send you a personally autographed copy of my book, Faith of My Fathers in appreciation of your steadfast support.

In recent months, a reporter dubbed me the "most formidable opponent of the Obama agenda." For me, the bottom line is this: I will always put my country first and fight for what I believe is in the best interest of the American people.

However, if I am going to win in November and continue to fight for our country, I will need your help and support. Your generous donation will be used to help me continue fighting, and I appreciate any amount you can give today.

Inconceivably the Obama White House and Democratic Congressional leaders continue to tell the national media that they are carrying out the "will of the people" and those who are speaking up against their policies represent only a "small minority" of voters.

You and I know that is not true. Vast numbers of Americans oppose their policies and are saying "No" to more lost jobs, more wasteful spending, more government control, more taxes and more debt.

What the Democrats are advocating is not the kind of change that is good for America and our children's future. I'm proud to lead the fight against these policies and am honored to have you by my side.

Thank you for your ongoing and steadfast support.

Sincerely,

John McCain

P.S. I have always fought on the side of people who want better, more efficient government. Today, I need your help to make sure I can remain in the U.S. Senate to continue that fight, by following this link to make a generous contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more. Remember, if you are able to give $100 or more today, I will personally sign a copy of my book, Faith of My Fathers as a token of my appreciation for your generous support. Thank you.

Administration May Lose Their Old Seats

President Obama and Vice President Biden both come from very blue Democrat states, yet the seats they vacated upon entering the executive branch are leaning towards the Republican candidates in the latest polls. While Republicans are expected to pick up seats at the midterm elections some are now questioning whether they take control outright in what would a political shocker. CBS reports GOP Eyes 2010 Senate Takeover

Beyond Illinois and Indiana, Democratically-held Senate seats in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Arkansas and Nevada -- where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid faces a tough race -- could be very competitive, according to Salvanto's analysis.

Republicans cheered when North Dakota Democrat Byron Dorgan announced his surprise retirement, giving Republicans a good chance for another pick up. It was also good news for the GOP when Vice President Joe Biden's son Beau announced he would not run for his father's old Senate seat, leaving Republican Rep. Mike Castle the best-positioned candidate to win in Delaware. Democrats are now backingNew Castle County Executive Chris Coons to run against Castle.

"I predict to you that Chris Coons is going to surprise the devil out of them," Joe Biden told MSNBC. Castle, however, soundly beat Coons in the most recent polls, the Hill reports.

President's and Vice President's Senate Seats Could Both Be Picked Off By Republicans

White House Worries Obama Senate Seat May Turn Red

Excerpt from the NYT Illinois Senate Race Worries Democrats Anew

CHICAGO — Alexi Giannoulias, the treasurer of Illinois and a basketball-playing friend of President Obama’s, won the Democratic primary here on Tuesday for the Senate seat once held by Mr. Obama. But his victory was hardly the free throw some had expected, setting off a new round of worrying among Democrats that the reliably Democratic seat might be picked off by Republicans in November.

In an Illinois Primary Race, Victory Is Self-Declared (February 4, 2010)

With four others on the ballot, Mr. Giannoulias won 39 percent of the Democratic vote, or, as Republicans preferred to describe it on Wednesday, lost 61 percent of it. A little-known former federal prosecutor who had never run for office, David Hoffman, came within six percentage points of Mr. Giannoulias.

With much on the line here, including the symbolism of the president’s home state possibly slipping away, some Democrats were concerned that the party had played into the game plan of the Republicans, who chose Representative Mark Steven Kirk, a centrist-leaning suburbanite who hopes to appeal to the state’s independent voters and even some moderate Democrats.

Already Wednesday morning, the National Republican Senatorial Committee had issued a Web video mocking Mr. Giannoulias, 33, for what it described as questionable loans made by his family’s bank, his ties to Rod R. Blagojevich, the indicted former governor of Illinois, and more.

“Is this change we can believe in?” the video asks.

Mr. Obama called Mr. Giannoulias to congratulate him on his victory, aides said, but despite the friendship, the White House indicated in the past that it had reservations about his candidacy. At one point, White House officials tried without success to recruit another Democrat, Lisa Madigan, the state attorney general, even after Mr. Giannoulias had made his aspirations clear.

Mr. Obama, who endorsed no one in the primary, has pledged to party officials to do what he can to help keep the seat in Democratic hands. But aides said the president would invest his time and efforts in races across the country and not necessarily devote more attention to the contest for his former seat.

Kirk Up for Tough Fight in Illinois

From Chicago Sun-Times Whole nation will be watching brutal campaign

"We all know that over the past year a quiet despair has descended on the State of Illinois," Kirk said. "A governor arrested, a senator seat disgraced, corruption rampant, unemployment rising and families struggling. The people of Illinois now see the arrogance of a one-party state."

On Tuesday night, the NRSC issued a Web ad highlighting Giannoulias' ties to Blagojevich and felon Tony Rezko titled, "Making Tony Soprano Proud."

Kirk is a five-term congressman from the north suburban 10th district with a Democratic tilt. Giannoulias started framing Kirk as a "Washington insider" Tuesday night and talking about job creation.

Giannoulias is the opponent the Republicans wanted. The Illinois Senate campaign will be unfolding at the same time Blagojevich's corruption trial starts this summer. Giannoulias starts the campaign against Kirk wounded by the primary.

Giannoulias, a basketball player -- he has shot hoops with Obama -- has the confidence of a jock and could needle Kirk. Kirk comes off like the smartest guy in the class and wants everyone to know it. Neither Giannoulias nor Kirk should be underestimated.

Chrismas Bomber Arrest & Trial

Senator Collins does an excellent job in laying out the problems in the handling of the Attempted Christmas Day Bomber in the following video. There has been little reason given by those who want terrorists tried in civilian courts as to why military tribunals are not adequate. There is a media perception that military tribunals are 'less fair,' but that has not been backed up by evidence. The complaints under the Bush administration were legitimate because there was no timeline for detainees to be tried. That was rectified with the bipartisan vote to institute military tribunals. Those who want civilian trails would be wise to answer the questions, 'Why civilian courts?' and 'Why are military courts not suitable?'

Allen West Calls on Ron Klein to Open Healthcare Debate

Deerfield Beach, FL - Florida Republican Congressional Candidate Allen West today called the backroom negotiations over healthcare "a flagrant disregard of the trust of the American people." West called on his opponent, Representative Ron Klein, to demand the negotiations be made public or announce he will vote against the bill.

"Our Republic depends on openness, on our citizens being able to learn about legislation and make their thoughts known to Members of Congress," West stated in an email sent to his supporters today. "No Member of Congress should support a bill whose details are unknown to the public." West called for grassroots activists to contact Congress and demand open hearings on the healthcare bill.

"This is not representative government, it is a flagrant disregard of the trust of the American people," West stated. "The only word to describe what Representative Klein's boss, Nancy Pelosi, is doing is nefarious. Our Republic stands upon a simple premise called the rule of law; this is completely the antithesis of that principle".
Text from e-mail to supporters:
Greetings,

Once again the liberals in Congress are taking action that threatens our Liberty. Even worse, now they are negotiating the final important details of the healthcare takeover behind closed doors.

This is nothing less than a flagrant disregard of the trust of the American people. Our Republic depends on openness, on our citizens being able to learn about legislation and making their thoughts known to Members of Congress.

This week, Brian Lamb of C-SPAN wrote to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid. Lamb and C-SPAN offered to put the entire backroom deal making on TV. So far, neither Reid nor Pelosi have agreed to have the public watch as the liberals plot to enact a government run healthcare system.

We need to take action now. I need you to do the following three action items to let Congress know we expect them to conduct business in the open where we can view the proceedings.

Email or call either Speaker Pelosi ( AmericanVoices@mail.house.gov or 202-225-0100 ) or Senator Reid reid.senate.gov/contact or 202-224-3542 ) and tell them to make the health care negotiations public.

Call my opponent Ron Klein (866-713-7303). Ask Congressman Klein to call for open meetings or to announce he will oppose any health care deal completed behind closed doors. No Member of Congress should support a bill whose details are unknown to the public.

Forward this email to at least five of your friends. Together we can bring the liberals out in the open and expose their plan to put the government in charge of your health care.

Steadfast and Loyal,
Allen B. West
